Internships at NVI

Receiving Certificate

NucoreVision, Inc. (NVI) is proud to announce its partnership with the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation. This partnership will not only help NVI make a difference in YCC’s community-based program, but will allow us to help development students in our community at large. Our commitment to making a change in the life of a student has allowed us to support the Youth CareerConnect Program initiative.

The Prince George's County Youth CareerConnect Program (PGC-YCCP) is a 4-year STEM education initiative funded by the government to provide over 2,500 high school students in Prince George's County with education and skills training, internships, college prep and dual enrollment, mentoring, and job readiness training to excel in the high growth industries in Healthcare and Information Technology (IT).

NVI’s core capabilities focuses on Cyber Security, Enterprise IT Solutions, and Management Consulting/Mission Support in the areas of defense and intelligence, healthcare IT, homeland security, and other related areas that support the security of our nation, which aligns with the PGG-YCC’s students training. Our interns will have an opportunity to learn from NVI’s Winning Circle senior staff members and be exposed to the latest solutions in cyber security and information technology. The interns will experience a meaningful working environment that promises to challenge and push the boundaries of their classroom training and establish effective mentoring relationships with college student interns, as well as industry professionals.

The internship positions are available during the summer, but can lead to a full-time opportunity after graduation for our college students. Our summer interns will find their experience rewarding - no matter what their major career goals are for their future.

THE INTERN EXPERIENCE: Mr. Justin Latney

Justin Latney is a high scool student participating in his second year as an intern at NVI. Here he is in his own words:

Being an intern at Nucore Vision Inc has given me a better understanding of the corporate world, and what it means to be a part of a supportive team. Mr. Fells as well as the rest of Nucore’s staff work diligently to make sure a job is done and done correctly. I am often a part of the Business Development meetings with the team, and am responsible for the research for Nucore in support of Cyber Security. I am constantly learning each day, that despite how challenging grabbing business may be at times, a company is certainly flawed without a functional group of determined and well-adjusted individuals, who remain focused on the day to day. I can say with one hundred percent certainty that my team share these traits.

We at Nucore build confidence in our work ethic, and work as a collective group to ensure that we are benefiting not only our business, but our community as well. As of now, I am stationed in the Nucore Building, assisting with the organization and cross referencing of research, etc. In the future however, I plan to hit the ground running in helping to grab business outside of the office, by delivering out of the box thinking for my team. I know that with hard work and dedication it can and will be done, thanks to my colleagues and the CEO himself, Mr.Ted Fells.
